About Bastec, our products and services
Bastec develops systems used to control and monitor ventilation, heating, cooling and other technical systems in buildings. Our building automation system BAS2, and the new version BAS3, is used in all types of buildings, ranging from offices and apartments to hospitals and science labs.
We strongly believe that building automation systems should be easy to install, manage and change, at a low total cost and with great flexibility. That is the foundation for our system, developed and marketed by us for three decades.
With BAS2/BAS3 you get an open system that is built on standard objects, with no project-specific source code, easy to configure and install for independent entrepreneurs. It is built on independent DDCs, giving great flexibility. No main computer (DHC) is needed.

BAS2 has free built-in network connection and web server, making your system easy to modify directly online and 100 percent remotely configurable. It includes free PC software, apps and development tools, including graphical editors; with no licenses or hardware locks. Connections are factory independent.
You can use Modbus Client to communicate with heaters, coolers, room controllers, VAV-systems and wireless transmitters; Modbus Server to communicate with SCADA systems; and M-Bus for communication with energy meters, wireless transmitters etc.

About Bastec, our history
Our goal since the beginning has been to offer the Swedish market the most easy-to-use and most flexible system which gives the lowest total cost.
Bastec is based in Malmö, in the southern part of Sweden and close to Copenhagen in Denmark. The company was founded in 1989 by students at the Institute of Technology, University of Lund. It started as a privately owned company, with many of the shareholders employed by the company.
Bastec is part of Swegon Group
Since 2023-06-01 our new owner is Swegon Group, who is a wholly-owned business area within Investment AB Latour.
Bastec AB was acquired by Investment AB Latour, through its business area Latour Industries AB, on July 1st 2014. The purchase did not change our business plan and we have continued as an independent company, with focus on our key product BAS2/BAS3. From 2016-2023 we were part of Bemsiq, also a business areas within Investment AB Latour.
Our annual turnover is approx. USD 6 million. Our economy is very solid and we have the highest possible credit rating (AAA). We employ around 30 people today and will continue to grow for the years to come.
Big partner network of system integrators
Early on our customers were mainly end-users, major estate companies and property managers. Today we have a big partner network of system integrators in Sweden. Sales are made primarily through these partners. They perform customer projects and contracts based on BAS2, delivering the best solutions to real estate companies, building companies etc.

In the region of Malmö and Skåne we also conduct our own contracts and customer projects.
BAS2-systems is installed in almost all kinds of buildings, ranging from small office buildings up to large hospital areas. One of our biggest installations so far is in the research facility MAX IV Laboratory in Lund, which was completed in 2016.
